I took the intermediate-advanced Chinese course for two weeks. The teaching was fun and exciting, and the teacher Ms. Li was thorough and explained everything to detail. The course was taught entirely in Chinese in a very effective manner, and the course content discussed day-to-day relevant issues that garnered a lot of engagement from the students. The locale was quiet and ideal for study, and ideally situated in an area with a great selection of shops and restaurants to get an authentic urban lunch experience in China.
My only gripe with my stay is that there were times when I wish the students would have more time to talk on their own. There were times when I felt that the conversation in the classroom could be a little more balanced between student and teacher, and these were not that many, they did sap a bit from the experience.
All in all, I am very satisfied with my stay at MandarinSpring and I highly recommend it to anyone who plan to stay in Shanghai either briefly or over a longer period and feel like brushing up on their Chinese skills.
The location for me is perfect, a 30 minute walk or 10 minute by taxi. Our class size is relatively small, consist of only two people, and this is turning out great so far, although I imagined a larger group prior to starting. The length of time allows us to cover many vocabulary and structure and share daily stories to progress on our learning. Our teacher is extremely lovely as well.

I attended school at Mandarin Spring Language Center during a slow period, so I was fortunate to have a more detailed learning experience with a class that was fitted for my personal advancement and development of the Chinese language, as well as informative in gaining knowledge of the Chinese culture. The location was rather convenient and well-situated, whether you are staying in central Shanghai or the Pudong area. The facilities and the classrooms were well-organized and there were several activities in particular on the weekends to assist students in acclimating to Chinese culture. The personalized study fitted for each individual is a priority at Mandarin Spring, and the staff went above and beyond in assisting me in fulfilling my learning goals. The books used are the "New Concept" book series which I feel could be better organized from a grammar point of view but is adequate in introducing new learners to the Mandarin language.

The teachers were very professional and patient. The location is central; I take 20 minutes by metro to get there. The facilities were great - new rooms, study room, pause break space and new furniture too. We did lots of activities, from sports, to making dumplings, and learning all the needed vocabulary for those situations.
